Kena Brown
Head Coach
Coach Kena Brown is the head coach and owner of Robin Hood Archery Academy & Games, bringing over 30 years of archery experience to the community.
She began her journey as a competitive archer, representing Mexico on the international stage alongside her sisters, Carmen and Alejandrina Santacruz. Together, they formed the first women’s compound team to win an international gold medal for Mexico, traveling the world and showcasing their remarkable talent.
Kena has been a dedicated archery coach for over 15 years, transitioning from her successful competitive career to sharing her expertise with others. Her passion lies in making archery accessible to everyone, especially youth, people with disabilities, and seniors. She believes in the profound benefits archery can bring, such as improved coordination, concentration, and confidence, and is committed to removing any barriers to the sport.
With a gift for working with adaptive archers and individuals with special needs, Coach Kena has coached archers as young as three and as old as ninety-four. She excels in creating an inclusive and enjoyable environment, ensuring that archery is a fun and rewarding experience for everyone. Whether working with large groups or one-on-one sessions, Kena’s enthusiasm and dedication shine through.
Under her leadership, Robin Hood Archery Academy & Games has become a welcoming and supportive community for archers of all levels. Coach Kena’s extensive experience, passion for the sport, and commitment to accessibility make her an invaluable leader and mentor in the world of archery.
Alexis Brown
Coach And Bow Technician
Coach Alexis Brown has been passionate about archery since he was six years old.
He competed in youth archery throughout high school and has been an archery coach for over ten years. Beyond archery, Alexis was deeply involved in other sports like wrestling and soccer. He brings his understanding of teamwork, dedication, and pushing oneself to overcome challenges into his lessons at Robin Hood Archery Academy & Games.
Alexis emphasizes a holistic approach to archery, focusing not only on archery skills but also on health, strength, and mental resilience. As our dedicated bow technician, he offers a full range of services to set up bows for any discipline and handle any necessary repairs. His expertise and commitment make him an invaluable part of our team, helping archers of all levels achieve their best.
Bill Brown
Axe Master & Archery Instructor
Bill Brown has been involved in archery for over ten years and is highly knowledgeable about archery equipment and disciplines.
As our dedicated Axe Master, Bill specializes in providing safe and effective instruction for anyone interested in learning the skill of axe throwing. Known for his encouraging nature, Axe Master Bill is always ready to lend a hand and offer helpful suggestions. His expertise and supportive approach make him an invaluable asset to the Robin Hood Archery Academy & Games team.
Jos Jaime-Sambrano
High Performance Coach
Coach Jos Jaime-Sambrano brings over 30 years of archery experience to Robin Hood Archery.
As a former competitive archer, she represented the Mexican national team at international events during high school. She continued her archery career at Texas A&M University, where she was a three-time All American athlete on the varsity archery team.
Jos’s extensive experience includes managing an archery shop and becoming a professional archery coach 14 years ago. She is a USA Archery NTS Level 4 coach and a certified coach trainer up to Level 3 NTS. Jos has served as the programs director for the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center, the largest archery facility in the world, and has been the head coach for both the Mount Marty University Archery Team and the University of South Dakota archery club.
In recognition of her dedication and expertise, Jos was honored with the 2019 USA Archery National Collegiate Coach of the Year award. Her passion for archery and commitment to coaching make her an invaluable member of the Robin Hood Archery Academy & Games team.
